Stop the Endless Wars

The United States has been at war in the Middle East continuously for the last sixteen years. Young soldiers are being sent into combat in Afghanistan who have no living memory of a time when we were not at war there. They’re being sent into an endless war without a clear objective, and Congress won’t even debate whether that’s prudent.

The Constitution permits Congress, not the President, to declare wars. Yet our military operations in the Middle East have been ongoing without a proper, legal authorization for years. If we’re going to ask a whole new generation to step into the fire of combat, it needs to be for a clear purpose, and it must be authorized by and debated before Congress.

Sign the petition to demand that we put a stop to endless, illegal war, and ask Congress to either formally declare a war or to bring our troops home.
