As a result of the partial government shutdown, the approval of new beer labels by the Alcohol and Tobacco Trade Bureau (ATTB) has ground to a virtual halt. This means that hard-working craft brewers who want to supply you with delicious new products can’t. They’re losing money, and you’re left high and dry.
It’s time to #freethebeer! Let’s get the Feds out of the beer label business altogether. It’s a silly role for bureaucrats to play—and a costly and arbitrary set of hoops for brewers to jump through—in a world where the craft beer revolution is producing endless new flavors, iterations and styles of beer.
If you trust beer consumers more than grey-suited government agents, sign the petition to get the ATTB out of the label approval process, and get those suds flowing again. #Beerisfreedom, even during a government shutdown.
